At the recent AFSCME Council 5 Convention, we elected a new Hennepin County Policy Committee. This Committee comprises five AFSCME Locals: 34, 552, 1719, 2864, and 2938. These Locals are also bargaining together as part of the All Locals Table Team. This Committee helps coordinate the work of AFSCME at Hennepin County and helps us stay organized during and between negotiations. Those elected are:
President: Latonya Reeves (Local 552)
Vice President: Darcy Young (Local 34)
Treasurer: TaRena Eady (Local 1719)
Secretary: Kelly Wavrin (Local 2864)
The Hennepin County Policy Committee also works with the Engagement, Outreach, and Engagement (EE&O)Committee which is currently being co-chaired by Kenneth Garnier (Local 34), and there is currently an opening for a Co-Chair. If you are interested in nominating someone else or yourself for co-chair, please get in touch with the EE&O Committee at eeandoaction@gmail.com
The EE&O meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:30 PM and is typically on Zoom.
The Hennepin County Policy Committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month 3-5 PM on Zoom.
