Organizers are expecting at least 80,000 people to descend at the Minnesota State Capitol this weekend as part of a series of demonstrations protesting the Trump Administration’s authoritarianism and corruption antics.
On March 28, Indivisible Twin Cities will host marches starting at three different points in St. Paul starting at noon. The marches will converge at the Minnesota State Capitol for a rally at around 2pm.
Indivisible Twin Cities confirmed Bruce Springsteen will perform “Streets of Minneapolis” at the rally, joining luminaries such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), actor and activist Jane Fonda, and American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten.
AFSCME Local 34 members who wish to participate in the demonstration should meet at the Western Sculpture Park, located one-half mile west of the State Capitol at 387 Marion St. Other march start locations include St. Paul College at 235 Marshall, as well as Harriet Island Regional Park.
Additional “No Kings!” demonstrations are expected to happen throughout the state, including adjacent Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis, Duluth City Hall in Duluth, Veterans Park in Detroit Lakes, and at a four-way stop in Rushford. Visit NoKings.org for a map of scheduled demonstrations.
