Updates To The Union Hardship Fund

In March, AFSCME Local 34 set up an hardship fund for members who have a financial hardship due to Operation Metro Surge, which resulted in federal agents, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, occupying the Twin Cities.

Our executive board recently approved a slight change that expands who can receive assistance. If you are currently behind on essential bills, or if you had any of the below situations in December through March, click here to apply. Do not complete the form on your county device.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • You could not work because you were detained because of profiling or alleged immigration issues
  • You could not work for another reason directly related to the occupation
  • You had legal fees due to detention resulting from profiling or alleged immigration issues
  • You had someone else in your household who had one of the above issues
